Q - After installing the DEMO software I receive an error when I try to run the program - Automation Error: Class Factory 2147221231

A - This is caused by an outdated MS script engine - run Windows Update to update to the newest version

Q - How do I install the Hot-N-Cold V5.03 update?

A - Download (save) the zip file to your computer. Shut down the Hot-N-Cold program. Unzip the file to your Hot-N-Cold folder - normally "Program Files \ HotNCold". Overwrite the existing HOTNCOLD.exe when prompted. This will upgrade your system to the most current version. Restart the software. If you click on Help then About you should see the version number (bottom right hand corner) is at 5.0.3

Q - How do I setup text messaging?

A - Text messaging can be a problem in that the numerous cellular providers use different access numbers and protocols. You will have to contact your cellular provider and get the appropriate information from them. The provider must be fully TAP compliant. The difficulty will be finding someone from the company who knows the answer to your question. You will need to get the access number and any protocols that are required to send a text message from your computer to your phone. Besides that, we strongly recommend to use a GSM Modem for sending (or receiving) SMS messages, because it is far more reliable then dial-up SMSC providers. GSM Modems are supported by ActiveXperts SMS used in the Hot-N-Cold system. We recommend WaveCom and MultiTech GSM Modems.

Q - Everything is hooked up but I can't read the sensors?

A - It is possible that your serial port can not respond fast enough. Some serial ports on notebooks and laptops are not configured to work with our software. You can resolve this by purchasing a 9 pin Serial to USB converter. Use the Serial to USB converter to connect to the Hot-N-Cold Interface. Check, in the windows Device manager, which com port was created when you installed the converter. Configure your Hot-N-Cold software to use that com port and try and read the sensors again.
